Is there a fee to enter?
No. All entries are free and must be received by Friday 17 August 2018.
Is there a limit to how many entries you can submit?
There is no limit on the number entries that can be submitted.
Who can enter?
This is dependent on the category.
What is the entry deadline?
All entries must be received via website submission by Friday 17 August 2018.
Will I get feedback on my entry?
Our judges kindly give up their time to judges the awards voluntarily and due to the high number of entries received individual feedback on each entry is not possible.
When will I find out if my entry has won?
The winner will be announced at the Angels of Light Benefit on Friday 21 September 2018 at The District in Sioux Falls, SD. Only the top 4 finalists in each category will be notified prior to the event. Winners are not notified prior to the awards ceremony and must be present to win.
How do I buy tickets for the awards ceremony?
Four finalists per category will receive a complimentary ticket. All other tickets must be purchased online. You can pay for your booking online via card payment, or upon invoice by contacting our offices. Please note that full payment for your table booking must be received prior to the awards ceremony.
What are the timings for the evening?
We are still placing the schedule together and don't have this officially locked in at this time.
What is the dress code for the awards?
Night out on the Town casual is perfect!
When will invitations be received?
Invitations will be sent to guests via email in early September.
What is your table cancellation policy?
Once confirmed you cannot cancel your table booking. If you can no longer attend please contact us via email prior to the event at email@example.com.
Terms and conditions (entries)
The entry process
All entries must be received by Friday 17 August 2018. Once your entry has been submitted you will receive a confirmation email. If you have note received a confirmation email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entries are only accepted online through The Guiding Hand Foundation website. Please ensure you read the description of the category you wish to enter by visiting the section on the website before submitting your entry. We strongly recommend that you write the body of your entry in a word document and then cut and paste it into the online entry form to prevent work being lost. Make sure you keep to the word limit specified for each question.
Entry is free of charge and entrants may submit as many entries as they wish.
Four Finalists per category will receive a complimentary ticket to the Angels of Light Benefit on 21 September 2018 to be able to attend the awards ceremony. If you wish for additional team members or family to attend, their ticket(s) will need to be self funded. This applies to all additional attendees.
Judging takes place throughout the end of August. All entrants will be notified via email to confirm whether their entry has been successful. If applicable the entrant’s nominator will also be notified via email at the same time.
The judges’ decision is final and cannot be disputed. Judging is conducted as a panel and no one person is responsible for deciding the winner of each category. Please note that feedback on your entry cannot be provided.
Terms and conditions (table bookings)
Table Bookings Payment
One finalist per entry will receive a complimentary ticket to the Angels of Light Benefit and awards ceremony. All other tickets must be purchased online.
All table bookings are made via email at email@example.com.
Payment for your table booking can be made either via credit card or check payment at the time of booking or by requesting an invoice. Payment is due 30 days before the date of invoice unless the invoice is raised less than 30 days before the start of the event. If this occurs, the payment terms are immediate.
Once your booking has been confirmed you will receive a confirmation email. If you have not received confirmation of your booking within 7 days of the event, please contact the Event Management Team as we may not have received your booking. We cannot be held responsible for the non-arrival of information.
All benefit tickets include a reception, meal and auction access, seat at a table, access to the presentation and concert.
Whilst in attendance at the event, if we reasonably consider that your behavior is inappropriate, disruptive, offensive, dangerous or illegal, we may ban you from further participation in the event without a refund.
Payment for the event must be received before the events date.
Cancellations are not accepted.
The Guiding Hand Foundation reserves the right to cancel this function. In the event of cancellation GHF will refund all booking fees in full. GHF cannot accept liability for travel, accommodation or any other expenses incurred as a result of any cancellation or postponement of the event. Our liability for loss or damage incurred as the result of cancellation or postponement of the event is limited to the amount of your booking fee. These terms and conditions are governed by The State of South Dakota.
Invitations for the awards will be sent out to guests. A form will be included within the invitations requesting whether we need to be aware of any special requirements.
Lighting and special effects
It is the table booking party’s responsibility to inform their guest(s) that special effects, including strobe lighting, may be used on the night.
It may be necessary for GHF to alter the venue and/or the date of this event for reasons beyond our control. We will endeavor to give you as much notice as possible and, where possible, transfer your booking to the new venue and/or date. By completing the table booking you confirm that you are authorized to make the booking.
